Nicenet Tip #1 – Provide Precise, Written Instructions •Give clear and complete written instructions. •Be sure that complicated instructions are on paper, not online. Nicenet Tip #2 - “Open in New Window” It’s helpful for students to have Nicenet open in one window while working an activity on another site. In Internet Explorer, follow these instructions. •Right click on any link •Select “Open in New Window” To return to between the opened window, click on Alt+Tab Nicenet Tip #3 - Establish a Starting Point •Direct students to go to Class Schedule first. •You can use the Class Schedule for listing all of your class assignments (even non-Internet assignments). Nicenet Tip #4 - Be careful with your words Be consistent with the technical words you use. Use the words the students see on Nicenet. For example: –“Conferencing” not “Discussion Board” –“Class Schedule” not “Assignments” Nicenet Tip #5 - Bold, Italic, & Underline Text Create bold, italic, and underline text for added clarity by using basic HTML codes. •<b>This text is bold.</b> •<u>This text is underlined.</u> •<i>This text is italic.</i> •<b><i>This text is bold and italic.</i></b>
